Eagles vs Bears: Chicago Beats Philadelphia 27-7 as Case Keenum Shines

The Chicago Bears defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 27-7 in Monday Night Football at Soldier Field on September 28, 2026, with veteran quarterback Case Keenum stepping into the spotlight after Chicago's quarterback injuries. Keenum completed 24 of 34 passes for 247 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for a touchdown as the Bears improved to 2-1 in the 2026 NFL regular season. The Eagles, who entered the game 2-0, dropped to 2-1.

Case Keenum delivers in unexpected start

Keenum was not originally expected to be Chicago's primary quarterback for the season. Starter Caleb Williams was ruled out with a hamstring injury, while Tyson Bagent had spent much of the week dealing with a concussion before being cleared. The Bears ultimately started Keenum against Philadelphia.

The veteran quarterback had not appeared in an NFL regular-season game since 2023. Against the Eagles, he completed 24 of 34 attempts for 247 yards and two passing touchdowns. He also scored on the ground, giving him three total touchdowns in the game.

One of his touchdown passes was a 41-yard connection with Kalif Raymond, while the Bears also used a varied offensive approach to keep Philadelphia's defense under pressure.

Eagles struggle to generate offense

Philadelphia scored its only touchdown through quarterback Jalen Hurts, who reached the end zone on a quarterback sneak. Aside from that score, the Eagles struggled to maintain offensive momentum.

Chicago's defense forced three turnovers, helping the Bears control the game after halftime. Philadelphia also committed 10 penalties, adding to its difficulties on the road.

Hurts finished the game with 153 passing yards, one interception and a rushing touchdown, according to the postgame reporting. The Eagles finished with 248 total yards compared with Chicago's 375.

Bears take control after halftime

The Eagles entered the game undefeated at 2-0 after victories over Washington and Tennessee. Chicago, meanwhile, was 1-1 following its first two games.

The Bears gradually took control at Soldier Field. Their defense created turnovers while Keenum and the offense continued to find opportunities through the passing and rushing game. The result gave Chicago a 27-7 victory and handed Philadelphia its first regular-season loss of 2026.

What the Eagles vs Bears result means

The Eagles and Bears both move to 2-1 after Week 3. Philadelphia will next face the Los Angeles Rams on October 4, while Chicago is scheduled to host the New York Jets on October 4.

For Chicago, the performance also put renewed attention on Keenum's role after he was forced into the starting lineup because of the quarterback situation. For Philadelphia, the 27-7 defeat ended its unbeaten start and highlighted problems created by turnovers, penalties and limited offensive production.

The Eagles vs Bears matchup became a major search trend in the United States after the game, with Google Trends showing related searches including "eagles vs bears," "eagles game," "Jalen Hurts," and "Case Keenum."
